FORE! Italy for Golfers Tour 2023 – A Bit of Everything

A collage of some of our favorite courses in Tuscany, Rome, the Dolomites and Sicily

You obviously play golf a LOT at home…..or you wouldn’t have clicked on this link. 😉

Maybe you’ve taken your clubs overseas and played St Andrews or Turnberry. Or even to Portugal or Spain too. You have missed one of the best golf destinations: Italy.

Though it isnt known as the “home of golf“, Italy happens to have some smashingly beautiful courses in most of the places you’re dying to see, anyway.

  • In Rome, you can play in the shadows of the acquaducts at Acquasanta. In Tuscany you’ve got your choice of many beautiful layouts, including Poggio dei Medici/Ugolino, Il Pavoniere and Casentino.
  • Even dry and sunny Sicily has a great option — La Verdura golf resort — near to important sites like Agrigento’s Temple Valley and the incredible 40,000 square feet of Roman mosaics at the villa in Armerina.

These trips are perfect for couples traveling together. Scot is an avid golfer and can accompany the guys on course while Rina heads off with the ladies for shopping, museum visits or massages.

Your custom Italy golf trip can include whatever cities and countryside you want to visit.

Rome, Tuscany and Milan/Venice offer the most golf options, so a central Italy tour or a northern Italy tour would be easy to adapt. If “your people” originally came from Sicily, Naples, Abruzzo or Puglia, we will suggest some great options that include a mix of golf and traditional sightseeing as part of a “Back to Your Roots Italian Heritage Tour“.

All of our tours are tailor-made, and built around your acitivity level, interests, pace, and what you want most out of your Italy trip. Please contact us to start an email conversation or schedule a short visit on the phone to talk about the possibilities.

‘Don’t play too much golf. Two rounds a day are plenty.’

– harry vardon (in the first part of the 1900s it was common for pro golfer to play 36 holes in a day. Imagine bryson dechambeau having to do that!)
